Flat suction cups need an uninterrupted contact area on the glass they engage. A smooth pane can provide that area, but a cup placed partly over an edge, printed texture, or joint may not develop the intended seal. The screw attachment provides a separate way to connect the cup to its mating fixture.
Choose the contact diameter around the usable glass area, leaving the entire rim supported. The cup should approach squarely rather than being pulled into position by the screw. Aligning the fixture first avoids using the flexible body to compensate for an angled mounting point.
Glass cleanliness matters on both sides of the interface. Wipe the cup lip as well as the pane, and keep sharp particles away from the contact face. Tighten the mechanical connection without twisting the seated cup. Holding behavior must be checked with the actual orientation and load; a clean appearance or large diameter does not establish capacity. Release the rim before removing the fixture so that detachment does not depend on pulling force through the screw.
