Product Overview

A custom vacuum suction cup for automation machinery forms the contact interface between a handling system and its workpiece. Cup profile, rubber hardness, and mounting dimensions should be selected around the actual surface and machine motion. The complete vacuum arrangement determines the conditions in which that contact is established and maintained.

Assess the approach to the workpiece before evaluating the holding phase. The cup needs to reach the surface at its intended angle without nearby tooling preventing full contact. Texture, curvature, seams, or residue can affect the lip, and a workpiece that varies in position can change how the cup first touches it. Include the actual fixture and mounting hardware in the assessment.

The operating cycle may involve movement, acceleration, a holding period, and release. Evaluate the cup through the relevant stages with the intended workpiece and vacuum conditions. A static contact check alone does not describe the full automated sequence. If multiple cups are used, their arrangement should permit each to establish the required contact rather than rely on one cup to pull the others into place.

Keep the lip and vacuum path clean and inspect the rubber for damage during maintenance. Replacement should preserve the mounting interface and cup profile so the original approach and contact geometry remain intact. Holding capacity should be established for the complete application rather than inferred from the cup diameter or material name.

Material options
Rubber compound options, customized alongside the profile and contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Solid rubber options: 30–90 Shore A. Cup profile, rubber hardness, and mounting dimensions should be selected around the actual surface and machine motion.
Custom geometry
Holding capacity should be established for the complete application rather than inferred from the cup diameter or material name.
Fit evaluation
Evaluate the cup through the relevant stages with the intended workpiece and vacuum conditions.
Color & OEM
Custom colors; OEM markings outside the suction contact face.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
