A closed blind rubber grommet blanks an unused panel opening with a molded rubber component. Its intact center covers the hole, while the outer retaining profile engages the panel edge. The custom size should match the opening and the panel thickness together so the closure sits as intended.
Check the cut edge before fitting. Burrs or sharp corners can damage the retaining section as the grommet is pressed into place. Work the edge into its seat and inspect the full circumference for a section left folded or raised. The exposed center should remain intact and should not be punctured if the purpose is to keep the opening closed.
Material and color can be selected for the surrounding product and environment. The visible diameter alone does not establish a replacement fit, since the hidden groove controls engagement with the panel. During service, inspect both the center and perimeter for damage. If the opening is later needed for a cable, use a component designed for that routed interface rather than assuming a cut in the blanking center will provide the required fit.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The custom size should match the opening and the panel thickness together so the closure sits as intended. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
