Cable step grommets use changes in section to locate a protective cable passage within a custom assembly. The steps can establish different contact or clearance regions around the opening. Molded silicone geometry allows the profile to follow the mating panel while keeping the cable away from a hard cut edge.
Identify which step captures the panel and which portions extend beyond it. Their heights and diameters need to agree with the surrounding surfaces. A shoulder meeting too early can stop the grommet before the retaining region reaches its seat, even if the outside looks close to the intended position.
Custom dimensions and compound choices allow the profile to be developed for those relationships. Check the cable's final route and any connector that must pass during assembly. Fit the stepped part in its intended orientation rather than turning it around to clear an obstruction. After the cable is secured, inspect the retaining section for movement. A replacement should retain the original step sequence and supported lengths, since a simpler ring may fit the same opening without preserving the intended protection or location.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. Molded silicone geometry allows the profile to follow the mating panel while keeping the cable away from a hard cut edge. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
