Small sizes rubber parts used as dampers or mounts need space to deform within the assembly. A compact outside envelope can leave little clearance between the supported component and surrounding hardware. The rubber profile should be developed so normal movement does not immediately bring rigid surfaces into contact.
Custom shape, dimensions, material and color allow the component to follow the available mounting space. Define the supported load and direction of movement before choosing the rubber section. A small part should not be assigned a capacity solely from its appearance or hardness.
Evaluate the actual assembly with fasteners and any sleeves or washers installed. Check that tightening does not consume all the intended compression before the equipment operates. During inspection, look for a contact mark on a neighboring rigid surface or rubber extruded from a narrow gap. These signs can reveal insufficient working space. If the part is difficult to fit, review the assembly alignment rather than forcing the rubber to accommodate a permanent offset that was not included in the design.
