Rubber vibration mounts form an elastomer interface between equipment and its supporting structure. The custom profile should suit the attachment points, loading direction, and permitted movement. The mount's operating position needs to be established without forcing the rubber to compensate for misaligned hardware.
Check the mounting surfaces and fastener locations before tightening. If the equipment is pulled into place through the mounts, the rubber can begin service under unintended shear or twist. The load distribution and the movement expected during startup, operation, and shutdown also need to be considered when selecting the construction.
Leave adequate clearance around the mounted equipment and check that connected cables or pipes do not create unwanted rigid contact paths. Install the mounts according to the attachment design and inspect the system through its normal operating cycle. The amount of vibration reduction depends on the complete supported arrangement, so no fixed performance should be assumed from rubber hardness alone. During service, inspect for tears, permanent deformation, and loose fixings, addressing misalignment or uneven loading before replacing a damaged part.
