Product Overview

Silicone seals provide custom compressible interfaces between adjoining parts. The profile should follow the receiving joint, with thickness and compound selected for its working conditions. In a heated assembly, the seal needs to suit the actual temperature cycle as well as the mechanical fit.

Check the medium, exposure duration, and cleaning stages. The temperature at the seal may differ from the surrounding environment, and the selected compound should be chosen accordingly. The mating parts also need to support the rubber evenly as the joint reaches its final position.

Install the seal onto clean surfaces without stretching it around an incompatible outline. Inspect for trapped edges as fasteners are secured in the sequence required by the assembly. Any required sealing performance must be evaluated on the complete joint under its intended conditions. During maintenance, look for cuts, permanent deformation, and damage to the receiving faces. A replacement should restore the designed profile and compound rather than use additional compression to compensate for an unsuitable seat.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
