Product Overview

Black o rings need clear identification when several sizes or compounds are used in one assembly area. Similar color and appearance can conceal differences in section diameter that change the installed compression. Keep each ring associated with its intended groove and material so a convenient nearby spare does not alter the joint.

Compare the ring section and installed diameter with the retaining geometry. Rubber washers use a flat face contact and should be identified separately, even if their inner and outer dimensions seem close to those of a ring. Select the compound around the actual medium, temperature, and movement.

During assembly, protect the sealing surface from threads or sharp steps and position the ring without twist. Close the joint evenly and check for pinching where accessible. On removal, examine the worn part alongside its mating surface before discarding it. A concentrated cut or extruded region may reveal a hardware problem that requires correction, while a simple size substitution could leave the same cause in place.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
