A fire resistant rubber grommet design needs a specified compound and an assessment appropriate to the intended equipment. An EPDM formulation can be considered where it meets those application requirements. The grommet's mechanical profile must also fit the panel and cable arrangement independently of its required fire behavior.
Establish the finished opening, panel thickness, and cable passage before selecting the retaining geometry. A displaced lip or sharp panel edge can compromise the mechanical interface even when the material is suitable for the specified requirement. Fit the grommet evenly and inspect it after the cable route is secured. Keep the jacket separated from the surrounding edge and avoid using the rubber as a substitute for the intended cable supports. Any fire resistance level belongs to the selected formulation and complete assembly assessment, not every rubber option with the same shape. During maintenance, preserve the material identity and full profile when replacing the part, and inspect the cable entry again after routing changes.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The grommet's mechanical profile must also fit the panel and cable arrangement independently of its required fire behavior. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
