An angled rubber grommet directs a cable away from a panel in a defined orientation. At a firewall entry, that direction should be chosen before the harness is connected to nearby components, so the rubber is not twisted afterward to make the lead reach its destination.
Start with the route on each side of the opening. Identify the available bend space and the position of the next support, then orient the angled section to serve that route. The panel-engaging section still needs to seat squarely even though the cable exit points away from the panel's normal direction.
ETOL offers custom structures, dimensions, compounds, hardness and colors. Select the material for the actual thermal and fluid exposure at the location, and evaluate any required barrier function in the completed entry arrangement.
During a trial assembly, mark the intended orientation on the surrounding layout and connect the harness without using it to rotate the rubber. Check the underside of the angled section for a collapsed wall or a tight fold. A part may look correctly directed from outside while the cable presses heavily against the inside of the turn.
Finish the inspection after adjacent clips and components are installed. If those fixings change the cable's approach, correct their positions or the custom entry geometry. Keeping the molded turn relaxed helps preserve the intended passage and panel contact during ordinary service access.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The panel-engaging section still needs to seat squarely even though the cable exit points away from the panel's normal direction. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
