A silicone wire grommet surrounds a wire or cable where it crosses a panel opening. The outer section must fit the panel, while the inner opening must suit the cable passing through it. These are separate interfaces, and both need attention when the entry is expected to limit water ingress.
Measure the panel hole and wall thickness together with the cable's outside profile. A groove that does not match the panel thickness can leave the grommet poorly retained even if its center grips the cable. Conversely, a well-seated outside lip does not show whether the cable interface closes adequately around the insulation.
Install without trapping a rolled edge under the panel rim, then check the cable route on both sides. Sharp bending or ongoing sideways pull can disturb the fitted position. Waterproof performance must be assessed in the complete enclosure with the intended cable and exposure conditions. If the cable is moved or replaced during service, recheck both interfaces instead of assuming that the original seating remains intact after the change.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. A groove that does not match the panel thickness can leave the grommet poorly retained even if its center grips the cable. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
