Product Overview

A flexible rubber seal gasket can be custom molded in different shapes for a particular mating interface. The outline should follow the joint naturally, with sufficient support beneath the working region. Flexibility helps the component conform within its intended design, but should not be used to bridge incorrect hole spacing or an oversized perimeter.

Lay the gasket into position and check its contour before closing the assembly. Narrow sections and changes in direction should remain untwisted. Any locating feature needs to hold the part without pulling it away from the surface where sealing contact is required.

Select the finished material for the contents, environment and cleaning method. Inspect the mating faces for debris or damage that could create uneven contact. When the joint is opened, examine the gasket's resting shape after removal; a section that stays stretched or folded may have been displaced during assembly. Replace it with the correct geometry and address the locating issue rather than forcing the same shape back into service.

Material options
Rubber. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Rubber: 30–90 Shore A. Flexibility helps the component conform within its intended design, but should not be used to bridge incorrect hole spacing or an oversized perimeter.
Custom dimensions
When the joint is opened, examine the gasket's resting shape after removal; a section that stays stretched or folded may have been displaced during assembly.
Fit & assembly
Lay the gasket into position and check its contour before closing the assembly.
Use & inspection
Inspect the mating faces for debris or damage that could create uneven contact.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
