A Heat resistant oval grommet cushions cables where they pass through an elongated panel cutout. The silicone option named for this product is a material choice for the entry, while the oval dimensions determine how it mounts and how much passage remains for wiring. Both aspects need to suit the location in which it will be fitted.
Temperature should be considered at the grommet contact surfaces, including heat conducted through the panel and exposure from nearby components. A room temperature assembly check cannot establish how the fitted rubber will behave during sustained operation. Select the silicone formulation for that exposure, including the operating duration and any repeated heating and cooling at the panel.
The size table includes different oval proportions and groove widths from 1 to 4 mm. Choose a groove that matches the panel, and leave the outside flange clear of hot edges or hardware that could press into it. The cable insulation also needs to suit the same environment.
Distinguish brief exposure during a process from heat present throughout normal operation. The relevant installation may also include repeated warming and cooling. Review cable movement and seating under the conditions that actually apply, rather than choosing a larger opening as a substitute for a suitable material.
During evaluation, inspect the entry after the equipment has reached its normal operating condition and cooled safely. Changes in seating, surface condition or cable pressure can reveal a problem that is not visible at initial installation. Replace damaged rubber and address the source of excessive local exposure before returning the assembly to use.
