Silicone Rubber Oval Shaped Grommets need space beyond the panel opening for their outer lips. This range provides edge protection for elongated cable passages, with separate groove and exterior dimensions that help establish that space during panel layout. Checking only the cutout can leave too little room next to a rib, screw or adjacent opening.
For the listed 40 by 80 mm groove, the outside outline is 50 by 90 mm. That exterior should lie on an unobstructed seating area. The smaller 36 by 76 mm interior is the opening available for cables once the grommet is installed. Each set of dimensions serves a different part of the layout.
Several groove widths are offered across the family. Choose according to the finished panel thickness, including relevant surface layers at the edge. Do not use pressure from a neighboring cover to make an unsuitable flange lie flat.
Before the cable route is finalized, trial the grommet alongside nearby hardware. Confirm that screws can still be fitted without catching the rubber and that enclosure closure leaves the lip undisturbed. If clearance is insufficient, revise the surrounding arrangement or select a suitable profile before wiring makes access more difficult.
