Silicone rubber shock-absorbers need a hardness and geometry selected for the intended mounting or contact arrangement. A higher hardness changes the rubber's response; it is not automatically an improvement over a softer component. The available deformation, supported structure and direction of force all belong to that selection.

Check the working section and installed clearance before choosing the formulation. A stiffer part may alter the position or movement of adjoining components, while an approximate body size can introduce unintended contact. The actual load and operating conditions require evaluation at the assembly level.

No specific impact capacity or vibration reduction follows from the general hardness description. During installation, preserve the planned attachment spacing and keep the rubber from being preloaded through misalignment. Service inspections should compare the resting geometry with the intended arrangement and look for local damage near rigid features. A replacement should restore the defined function rather than use hardness alone to compensate for an unresolved mounting problem.
