An elastic silicone rubber ring can provide a compliant sealing section in a joint that experiences heat and water exposure. The compound and surrounding geometry need to be chosen for the actual operating cycle, including the temperature at the seal itself. Any fire performance requirement belongs to a defined material and complete assembly assessment under the relevant conditions.
Match the ring's section and installed diameter to its groove. As mating parts heat and cool, the available space may change, so assess contact at the important operating states rather than only during initial assembly. Keep the section supported where pressure could otherwise push it into a gap.
Install without twist and protect the surface from sharp shoulders along the fitting path. Inspect the joint after representative use for displacement or a persistent change in shape. If sealing changes with temperature, review the changing gap and material selection together. A larger ring should not be used as an automatic remedy, since it can create excessive compression when the joint returns to another operating condition.

Manufacture and check against the approved requirements
Identify temperature, contact fluids and repeated movement.
Consider hardness together with wall thickness and support.
Check access, mating dimensions and the fitting sequence.
Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.
Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.
A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.
