Product Overview

A silicone seal ring needs room within the joint for its section to compress. The groove and adjoining clearance establish that space. Choosing a larger section to make a closure feel tighter can change where the rubber moves rather than improve the intended contact.

Examine the joint at its designed closed position. Identify any shoulder or hard stop that controls the gap, then relate the ring section to the space remaining around it. The section should stay within its supported region instead of being forced toward an opening or between moving hard edges.

Custom ring dimensions can follow this geometry, with the silicone formulation chosen for the sealed medium and operating conditions. Check representative mating components together where their dimensions vary. A fit assessment should include the smallest available section space, not only the easiest combination to assemble.

During service, inspect for a pinched ridge or material displaced out of its seat. Compare that pattern with the closed joint before selecting a replacement. Restore the intended groove and section relationship rather than treating extra tightening or a second ring as a way to correct an uncertain gap.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. The section should stay within its supported region instead of being forced toward an opening or between moving hard edges.
Custom dimensions
The groove and adjoining clearance establish that space.
Fit & assembly

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
