Buna-N mounts use a selected NBR formulation in a custom support geometry. For a round damper, the surrounding radial space is part of the design because the rubber can change shape when loaded. A close fitting pocket should not prevent the intended deformation or cause the body to rub continuously against its walls.
Custom dimensions and colors allow the mount to follow the assembly. Define the supported load, installed compression and fastening arrangement together. Select the compound for the actual fluids, temperature and duration of exposure at the mounting point.
Check the completed assembly under representative operation and inspect the perimeter for concentrated contact. A round outside shape does not mean the load is distributed evenly if the supported component is offset. During maintenance, look for permanent lean, extrusion or a contact band against surrounding hardware. Review the pocket clearance and alignment before changing only the diameter. Vibration behavior should be assessed with the entire support system, including other mounts and connected components that influence movement.
