A rubber gasket can have a flat washer section or a rounded ring section, and those forms require different receiving arrangements. A flat face distributes contact across its width, while a rounded section occupies a groove differently as the joint closes. Custom molding should reproduce the form the assembly was designed to use.
Before selecting a replacement, identify the seat rather than relying on the general name assigned to the old part. A shallow flat recess, a circular groove, and two unrestricted mating faces are not the same geometry. The shape of the available space determines which dimensions are needed to describe the gasket.
Keep section variants separate during assembly so a similarly sized ring is not fitted by appearance alone. Select the precise rubber for the contacted substances and service conditions. If the joint cannot reach its expected closed position, verify that the correct section was selected before adjusting the hardware. This is particularly useful where a workshop handles several washer and O-ring versions that share an outside diameter but belong to different connections.

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.
Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.
A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.
