A neoprene rubber bumper provides a compliant face where a machine component meets a defined contact point. Its shape should suit both the approach and the return movement. If the moving part drags across the bumper as it withdraws, the attachment must retain the rubber without tearing a thin edge.
Check the opposing surface and its travel path. A broad face can load the bumper differently from a corner or narrow rib, so the intended contact area matters more than a similar outside size.
