A silicone flexible cable grommet creates a molded protective passage at a panel opening. Its flexibility helps with fitting, but the cable and panel still need matching dimensions so the liner can settle without sustained distortion. The intended insulation requirements should be evaluated separately from the ease with which the rubber bends.
Check the cable's finished outside size and the largest item that must pass through during assembly. Threading a sharp termination can cut the bore even when the jacket itself would fit. Seat the outer retaining region fully and keep the cable centered as it is moved into position. Custom dimensions, colors and identification options can suit the application. After fitting, inspect the inner lip and jacket for marks caused during installation. If the wire is rerouted later, recheck the bend beside the panel so a newly tightened support does not pull the liner away from the opening. Replace a damaged grommet rather than relying on its remaining flexibility to hide an exposed edge.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. If the wire is rerouted later, recheck the bend beside the panel so a newly tightened support does not pull the liner away from the opening. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
