Selected for the contact, temperature and movement
Define the visible surfaces and intended color
Develop holes, lips and walls around the mating parts
Match the attachment and installation method
Silicone rubber colored plugs can distinguish small closures used at different positions or across related product models. Color works best when its meaning is consistent and a visible portion remains after installation. The molded size and profile still need to match the receiving opening independently of the chosen shade.
Custom stopper and sealing cap structures are available, along with dimensional and material options. Decide whether each version fits inside an opening or over an external feature, then develop its engagement depth and handling area. Two colored closures may look similar from above while requiring different installation arrangements.
During assembly, compare the intended position with both the part identity and its geometry. Avoid forcing a mismatched plug into a hole merely because its color appears correct. Keep the contact surfaces free of debris, and check that the installed closure sits at its specified position. Select the compound for the actual exposure conditions. During maintenance, inspect the rubber for damage as well as checking the visible color, since appearance alone does not establish that a reused closure remains suitable.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. Decide whether each version fits inside an opening or over an external feature, then develop its engagement depth and handling area. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
