Selected for the contact, temperature and movement
Define the visible surfaces and intended color
Develop holes, lips and walls around the mating parts
Match the attachment and installation method
A silicone sealing cap with a flat profile needs sufficient access around its fitted position for the intended removal method. A low visible head can provide a compact finish, but it may be difficult to grip if the surrounding opening is deeply recessed or close to another component.
Define the inserted or covering section separately from the flat top. The working profile must match the mating opening and available depth, while the accessible area should permit handling without digging into the sealing edge. Check that the cap does not bottom out on an internal obstruction before the contact surface seats.
Fit evenly and inspect for a raised side or folded lip. Any required water-containment performance must be evaluated in the complete joint with the selected formulation and conditions; a flat appearance does not establish a seal. During reuse, examine the edge most often used for removal and the hidden engagement area. Local damage there can affect both handling and retention while the main top surface remains visually unchanged.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. The working profile must match the mating opening and available depth, while the accessible area should permit handling without digging into the sealing edge. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
