Match the attachment and installation method
An office computer desk grommet finishes a round cable opening in a desktop and organizes the route between the work surface and the space below. The plastic component should match the cutout while leaving practical room for the cables used at the desk. Custom dimensions and color can coordinate it with the furniture.
Plan the cable group before choosing the passage size. A monitor connector or power plug may need more clearance during installation than the cable occupies afterward. The opening should also allow the wires to turn beneath the desk without being trapped against a bracket or drawer.
Check the desktop thickness and the available seating area around the hole. Fit the grommet into a clean, finished cutout so its rim lies evenly rather than bridging a rough edge. Keep required access to nearby furniture fittings clear.
After routing, arrange the cables below the desk so their weight does not pull the group tightly against one side of the opening. Leave usable slack for equipment movement without bunching excess cable at the passage. During desk changes, inspect for a cable caught under the rim and reassess clearance before adding more leads. Clean the visible rim without pushing debris into the cable space, and replace a cracked part before its edge can contact the jackets.
Photos illustrate the plastic structure and material only. The desktop passage needs clearance for connector bodies and cable turns. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone or rubber alternatives to fit your desk opening.
