A rectangular rubber seal gasket follows a straight-sided sealing path with a defined length and width. The custom natural rubber configuration should match the mating outline, corner radii, and closing gap. The long sides need to remain supported and correctly positioned as the joint is assembled.
Place the gasket without stretching it from corner to corner. A stretched side may pull away from its intended seat, while excess length can form a wave that becomes trapped during closure. Check the inner opening and any locating features against the actual mating component. Square and rectangular outlines require their own dimensions rather than a scaled visual approximation.
