Product Overview

Self-adhesive rubber anti vibration pads add a compliant layer at selected contact points while keeping the pad located on its mounting surface. Their effect depends on the complete arrangement, including the supported mass, contact area and motion reaching each pad. Simply choosing the softest rubber does not establish the best result for an assembly.

Consider where the load enters the pad and whether nearby fasteners or rigid surfaces bypass the rubber layer. A pad placed beside a direct metal contact may provide little change at that particular contact path.

The adhesive must be suited to the surface and the direction of loading. Prepare the mounting area and follow the bonding conditions for the selected adhesive before evaluating the assembly. Keep cables or hoses from imposing an unintended sideways pull during that evaluation.

Compare behavior under the actual operating conditions, including startup and shutdown if they produce different movement. Examine the pads for displacement, excessive compression or contact with an adjacent hard surface. Make changes to pad geometry or arrangement as part of the assembly design, then reassess the result rather than assuming that extra pad layers will improve isolation.
