Product Overview

A rubber bonded metal bushing combines rigid mounting features with a deformable rubber section. The metal dimensions locate the part in the surrounding assembly, while the rubber accommodates the intended movement. The bonded interface must be developed for the direction and extent of that deformation.

Custom material, dimensions and color options allow the bushing to follow the joint. Define the inner and outer metal geometry, available working clearance and fastening method. The installation should not twist the bonded rubber into an unintended resting condition simply to align the hardware.

Evaluate the complete joint under representative loading and movement. Check that adjacent washers or brackets do not restrict the rubber where it is meant to deform. If assembly uses an inner sleeve, its length and clamping arrangement should control fastening as intended.

The reference position used during tightening also deserves attention. If the joint is secured while its connected parts are held away from their intended resting alignment, the rubber may begin service under continuous twist. Establish the assembly position for the specific joint before evaluating its available movement.

During inspection, examine the rubber beside the metal boundaries for separation, tearing or permanent offset. A secure outer fit does not reveal every issue at a bonded interface. Before replacing a worn bushing, review alignment and the load path so the new part is not subjected to the same unintended motion. Preserve the developed metal and rubber configuration when making replacements.

Material options

Custom dimensions
The metal dimensions locate the part in the surrounding assembly, while the rubber accommodates the intended movement.
Fit & assembly
If assembly uses an inner sleeve, its length and clamping arrangement should control fastening as intended.
Use & inspection
If the joint is secured while its connected parts are held away from their intended resting alignment, the rubber may begin service under continuous twist.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
