Selected for the contact, temperature and movement
Define the visible surfaces and intended color
Develop holes, lips and walls around the mating parts
Match the attachment and installation method
A custom silicone bumper for ladder use must be developed around the ladder's actual contact or support location. Rubber feet for a chair may belong to the same broad product category, but the two applications require their own shape, retention, and use assessment. A similar cap or pad outline does not establish interchangeability.
Define the surface that the component meets and the direction of loading. The part should seat fully on its intended mounting feature and present the working rubber area to the adjoining surface. The complete product should maintain its required alignment and stability with the component installed. Surface condition also affects contact, including any water or debris present in use.
Size, color, and compound can be customized for the defined application. Inspect the rubber and its retaining area during routine care, keeping abrasive particles away from the contact face. A damaged or missing support needs the correct replacement specified for the finished product rather than a general rubber foot chosen only by outside dimensions.

FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose hemispherical, tapered or recessed rubber feet and compare the mounting dimensions. All values are in millimeters. Use the drawing labels for each product; a dash marks a dimension not supplied in the source.
12 sizes for recessed rubber feet, including flat and rounded bases. The Base column identifies the lower-edge style. C is recess depth; the appearance rendering shows a rounded-base example.
