Product Overview

A black sealing gasket provides a rubber interface between matching mechanical faces. The contact outline, thickness and locating features should follow the joint so compression occurs where intended. Its color does not establish the compound or suitability for a particular fluid.

Inspect the mating surfaces and identify any groove, bolt opening or raised feature that controls the gasket's position. A part can align with the outside of the joint while leaving an internal passage partly obstructed. The compressed condition needs to be considered alongside the loose thickness.

ETOL can customize the shape, material and hardness. Select the compound for the contact medium and operating conditions, and use the joint's specified assembly method. Uneven tightening or an unsupported edge can produce a different contact pattern from the one intended by the gasket design.

After a representative trial, inspect the gasket for folding, displacement or uneven compression. Keep debris and old material off the faces before refitting a serviceable part or installing a replacement. Do not add extra layers to compensate for an unexplained leak; review the mating surfaces and defined compression first. The approved gasket specification should retain both the material and the complete contact geometry.

Material options
Rubber. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Rubber: 30–90 Shore A. Do not add extra layers to compensate for an unexplained leak; review the mating surfaces and defined compression first.
Custom dimensions
Shape the gasket around the mechanical sealing face, allowing for locating grooves, bolt openings and any raised mating features.
Fit & assembly
Inspect the mating surfaces and identify any groove, bolt opening or raised feature that controls the gasket's position.
Use & inspection
Keep debris and old material off the faces before refitting a serviceable part or installing a replacement.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
