Rubber bumper molding can produce a compliant shock absorber for a defined contact position in a mechanical assembly. The molded face, working height, and attachment profile should match the direction and area of incoming contact. Material and hardness can be selected for the actual loading and surrounding conditions.
The contacting component should meet the intended part of the bumper rather than strike a thin edge. Establish the available space for rubber deformation and check that neighboring structure does not stop movement before the bumper works as designed. A different bumper height can change where contact begins, so that dimension belongs to the complete assembly layout.
Assess the part with the actual motion, load, and support structure. Its size and rubber name do not establish a universal impact capacity. Keep the attachment secure and inspect the working face for uneven contact marks during service. If the bumper shifts or deforms differently after other components are adjusted, review the alignment before replacing it.
