Custom butyl rubber plugs can be shaped for different openings while retaining a clearly defined closing surface. The body engages the receiving part, and the head or shoulder establishes the intended stopping and handling area. Size, color, and hardness can be adapted to the application rather than selected from the visible head alone.
The opening depth and surrounding access should guide the body length. A long plug may meet an internal obstruction before the head seats, while a short one may engage less surface than the design requires. If removal is expected, leave room to grip the intended area without prying at the edge that performs the closing function.
Choose the butyl formulation for the actual contact medium and operating conditions. Similar shapes made from other rubbers should remain separate material variants. Clean the receiving surface before insertion and check that the plug reaches its intended position without a fold beneath the head. During replacement, preserve the complete profile and formulation so that the new part restores the original closing arrangement.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. The opening depth and surrounding access should guide the body length. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
