Product Overview

A silicone medical balloon is a custom flexible chamber developed as a component of a medical device assembly. Its size, shape, and material configuration need to follow the intended device function. The chamber, connecting region, and surrounding space must be considered together because each affects how the component expands and returns within the assembly.

Start with the required operating form rather than only the uninflated dimensions. The available space should accommodate expansion without rubbing against an edge or forcing the chamber into an unintended fold. The connection also needs to remain properly positioned as the chamber changes shape. Evaluate the component with the actual adjoining parts and the device's intended operating conditions.

Material selection should address the substances contacting each surface and any cleaning or processing applied during manufacture and use. Those requirements depend on the finished device and cannot be inferred from the word silicone alone. The chosen construction must be evaluated for the intended contact and operating duty before it is used in a medical application.

Handle the component without sharp tools touching the flexible wall. Inspection should include the connection region and any area concealed after assembly, since damage there may be difficult to see later. The completed device must establish its operating limits and use instructions; this custom chamber does not by itself define a clinical indication or a universal pressure rating.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. The chamber, connecting region, and surrounding space must be considered together because each affects how the component expands and returns within the assembly.
Custom dimensions
The connection also needs to remain properly positioned as the chamber changes shape.
Fit & assembly
Inspection should include the connection region and any area concealed after assembly, since damage there may be difficult to see later.
Use & inspection
Material selection should address the substances contacting each surface and any cleaning or processing applied during manufacture and use.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
