Mini suction cups use a small contact footprint, making the condition of that local surface particularly relevant. A tiny ridge, seam, or particle can occupy a significant part of the rim's seating path. Select the silicone cup around a suitable continuous surface rather than positioning it where only part of the lip can make contact.
The attachment should load the cup without levering it sideways. Check how the mounted item is handled and whether its center of load stands away from the contact surface. Assess the complete setup in its actual orientation and under the expected movement; small size alone does not establish a useful holding capacity.
Keep the lip clean and undamaged before fitting. Press the cup in the manner intended for its design and examine the perimeter for uneven contact. Release before moving the mounted item to a new position, instead of dragging the cup across the surface. Inspect for nicks or a permanently folded lip during reuse and replace cups that cannot settle into their intended shape.
