A rubber suction cup with screw needs space for both its threaded mounting and the flexible cup below it. The holder should secure the connection without restricting the body's movement as the lip settles onto the contact surface. Hardware that appears clear before engagement may interfere after the cup deforms.
Check the receiving thread and available depth, then review the holder's position relative to the sealing face. The screw should seat as intended without bottoming out prematurely. Installation should avoid twisting the rubber as a way to tighten the metal connection, particularly where tool access is limited.
Evaluate the complete arrangement on the intended surface with the relevant direction of force. Look for hardware contact, uneven lip compression, and changes in cup alignment under load. The screw attachment does not establish surface holding capacity. During maintenance, inspect the threaded joint and the flexible neck separately from the rim; movement at the mounting interface can affect performance even while the sealing edge remains clean and visibly undamaged.
