An oval rubber grommet for a firewall can be customized for an elongated cutout and its cable passage. The oval outline needs both major and minor dimensions, along with the panel thickness and retaining profile. Neoprene material selection should reflect the conditions at the actual installation point.
An oval opening can accommodate a different harness arrangement from a round hole. Check how the cables are distributed through the passage and the direction they take on each side. The grommet should cushion the cutout edge without forcing the harness into a tight bend immediately beyond the panel.
Remove burrs before installation and seat the retained portion around the full perimeter, including the curved ends. Route the harness with the supports required by the vehicle design so that pull is not concentrated at the rubber. The component's name does not establish a fire barrier rating for the completed opening. During servicing, inspect the long sides and end curves for displacement or wear, then recheck the fit after any harness routing change.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The oval outline needs both major and minor dimensions, along with the panel thickness and retaining profile. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
