A conductive round grommet with metal can be developed where the entry includes a defined electrical contact feature alongside rubber cable protection. The metal's location and mating surfaces need to remain stable as the cable moves. Its intended function should be established explicitly rather than inferred from a visible insert.
Match the body to the panel and the bore to the cable before assessing the contact. A loose mounting groove can let the metal feature move relative to the surface it is meant to meet. Conversely, over-compressing the rubber to improve contact can alter the cable passage or damage the insert boundary.
Evaluate the actual electrical requirement with the assembled hardware and the cable in its supported route. Include the handling expected at the entry and check for changes in position. Custom material, geometry and color can follow the selected configuration.
During inspection, examine both the contact face and the surrounding molded rubber. A loosened insert, cut interface or contaminated mating surface needs correction before reuse. Keep replacement parts consistent with the evaluated design; similar dimensions alone do not show that another metal-bearing grommet provides the same contact arrangement.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The metal's location and mating surfaces need to remain stable as the cable moves. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
