A Rubber Bottle Cap Seal Ring forms a custom annular seal within a closure. The high pressure wording should be translated into the actual joint requirements, including the pressure, contact medium and supported sealing geometry. The part's ring shape alone does not provide a pressure rating.
Establish the groove or mating faces that retain the rubber and the compressed section they are designed to produce. A ring that is too large or unsupported at its edge can distort as the closure is secured. Choose the compound for the contents and operating conditions, and evaluate the complete assembly rather than the loose washer. During fitting, keep the ring untwisted and clear of particles on the sealing band. After opening, inspect for extrusion, cuts or permanent displacement from the seat. Replace a damaged part after checking the closure hardware and support. Additional tightening should not be used to compensate for an incorrect section or a ring that no longer fits its intended contact region.
