Rubber silicone grommets separate electrical wire covering from the edge of a supporting opening. The protected region should be considered alongside the rest of the wire route, since a second sharp feature immediately behind the panel can still contact the jacket. Choose the grommet geometry and nearby clearance as part of a continuous practical wiring arrangement.
Match the groove to the finished panel thickness and the passage to the wire covering. Leave room for the wire to take its intended bend without pulling the rubber away from the edge. Select the compound for the temperature and substances present at that location.
Seat the grommet before fixing the wire route tightly. Inspect the hidden lip and the nearby jacket clearance once supports are secured. During maintenance, check for a localized cut or rub line that reveals where contact actually occurs. Correct the route or surrounding edge where needed, rather than assuming a replacement grommet alone will protect wire that is rubbing beyond the area the part covers.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The protected region should be considered alongside the rest of the wire route, since a second sharp feature immediately behind the panel can still contact the jacket. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
