Product Overview

A rubber bumper cover with adhesive backing places a flexible layer over a local contact area without adding a through fastener. The cover should extend across the intended impact or rubbing region while remaining supported by the surface beneath it. Overhanging rubber can catch on an adjoining component and transfer a peeling force into the bond.

Identify where contact begins and where it travels during use. A moving part may first touch the edge of a bumper before reaching its center, so the installed profile matters as much as the total pad area. Leave clearance for the surrounding mechanism after the rubber is compressed.

Select the adhesive for the substrate and service conditions, and prepare that substrate before fitting. Position the cover accurately while its bonding face is protected, then apply it without stretching. Check the finished assembly through its normal movement to see whether contact stays on the intended surface. Replace a cover with a damaged edge or loosened bond before it shifts into the mechanism or exposes the surface beneath.

Material options
Custom rubber compound and color, selected for the contact conditions and required geometry.
Hardness range
30–90 Shore A for rubber. Assess the grade against this fit requirement: Leave clearance for the surrounding mechanism after the rubber is compressed.
Custom profile & fit
A moving part may first touch the edge of a bumper before reaching its center, so the installed profile matters as much as the total pad area.
Assembly considerations
Select the adhesive for the substrate and service conditions, and prepare that substrate before fitting.
Design check
Check the finished assembly through its normal movement to see whether contact stays on the intended surface.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
