Product Overview

This blind silicone grommet closes a panel opening with a flexible center and a retaining perimeter. It is intended for an opening that does not need an existing cable passage. Its ability to cover the cut edge depends on the outer profile being seated without damage during insertion.

Work from the rim when fitting the part. Pushing a tool into the center can puncture the closed section without improving engagement at the groove. A blunt, controlled installation approach is especially useful where access behind the panel is restricted.

Custom structure, dimensions, hardness, color and material are available. Match the closed component to the actual opening rather than choosing it solely by its visible face. The panel edge should be clean enough that insertion does not score the mounting section.

The abrasion-resistant title does not remove the need to address burrs or repeated contact. If another component rubs the closed face, provide clearance rather than accepting that contact as normal. Inspect the underside after removal where possible, and replace a torn rim instead of rotating the damage to a less visible position.

Material options
Custom silicone formulation and color for the specified shape and working environment.
Hardness range
20–80 Shore A for silicone. Balance insertion flexibility with support around the opening. Pushing a tool into the center can puncture the closed section without improving engagement at the groove.
Custom profile & fit
Match the closed component to the actual opening rather than choosing it solely by its visible face.
Assembly considerations
Inspect the underside after removal where possible, and replace a torn rim instead of rotating the damage to a less visible position.
Design check
A blunt, controlled installation approach is especially useful where access behind the panel is restricted.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
