A closed rubber oval flat grommet covers an elongated panel opening without leaving an open cable passage through its center. Its oval outline can suit a slot-shaped cutout where a round blanking piece would not follow the perimeter. The flatter face also needs enough surrounding clearance to sit properly against the panel.
Measure both the long and short axes of the opening, along with the panel thickness. Similar-looking oval holes can have different end curves, leaving a poor fit even when the overall length agrees. Full engagement around the rounded ends is especially important because a partially seated lip can be difficult to notice from the front.
Fit the part into a smooth opening and inspect the entire perimeter for folds. Treat the closed center as part of the original blanking design: cutting it changes the product's function and may leave an unsupported edge. If cables are needed later, choose a passage geometry that supports them instead of assuming any slit will provide suitable protection.
