An FKM gasket can be customized for a shaped joint, with HNBR, SBR and EPDM available as other material choices within the broader range. These are alternative formulations rather than a single gasket carrying every material's properties. The selected compound should match the substances, temperatures and physical contact at the joint.
Start by defining the gasket's mechanical role. It may need to seal between faces, cushion contact or occupy a shaped gap. The outline and thickness should follow that role, with adequate support under the rubber when the assembly is compressed. A material change cannot compensate for a gasket sitting partly outside its mating surface.
Rubber gaskets can be produced in cut or molded forms depending on their geometry. Choose the process and profile that preserve the intended contact areas, especially around openings and narrow sections.
During installation, keep the gasket flat and free of residue. Inspect the joint after assembly for local extrusion or a displaced edge. If the old gasket shows swelling, cracking or uneven flattening, review both exposure and compression before specifying the replacement. Maintaining a clear material identity is useful when several similar shapes are stored together, because color alone may not distinguish their formulations.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The outline and thickness should follow that role, with adequate support under the rubber when the assembly is compressed. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
Identify key dimensions, mating surfaces and quantity
Agree the compound and manufacturing approach
Review the fit and agreed requirements in the assembly
Manufacture and check against the approved requirements
Identify temperature, contact fluids and repeated movement.
Consider hardness together with wall thickness and support.
Check access, mating dimensions and the fitting sequence.
Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.
Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.
A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.
The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
