Product Overview

A silicone foam gasket provides a compressible sealing layer cut to a custom outline. Its narrow bridges, corners and openings should stay aligned with the joint during handling and closure. The foam structure and thickness need to suit the compressed space available between the mating parts.

Support the gasket when lifting it rather than pulling it from one thin section. Lay it onto the seating surface without stretching the outline to reach the corners. If a locating hole does not align naturally, check the orientation and dimensions before forcing it over a fastener. A distorted die-cut profile may not return to the intended sealing path after the joint closes.

Choose the finished material for the actual temperature, substances and cleaning conditions. Solid rubber and foam should not be substituted by matching thickness alone. Evaluate the selected gasket in the complete joint, including how the mating faces support its edges.

During service, inspect for crushed regions and tears around internal openings. Remove remnants carefully so they do not remain beneath the replacement. Keep the new part flat while the joint is brought together, and check that no foam section is pushed into the passage it surrounds. Correct an uneven seating face before using additional compression to make the joint appear closed.

Material options
Silicone foam with a die-cut profile tailored to the sealing path, including narrow bridges and internal openings.
Hardness selection
20–30 Shore C can be considered for a more yielding die-cut section; 35–45 Shore C is an alternative reference when firmer handling is wanted. Trial the thin bridges in the actual joint.
Custom dimensions
Coordinate cut openings, locating holes and corner details with the available face area and compressed thickness.
Fit & assembly
Support the whole profile during placement. A hole that needs stretching to reach its fastener calls for a fit correction.
Use & inspection
Inspect internal corners for tears and crushed areas; remove remnants without leaving material beneath the replacement.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
