An oil resistant mechanical seal made with a selected rubber formulation must suit the specific oil and mechanical arrangement it will encounter. Lubricant additives, temperature and contact duration can affect that selection. Silicone as a broad material family does not establish universal resistance to every oil service.
Define the rubber element's role within the complete sealing system. A static contact and an interface exposed to movement require different evaluation, and the molded part alone does not define a complete mechanical face seal. The geometry should match its seat without relying on excessive compression to fill a poorly matched gap.
Prepare the receiving surfaces so burrs or contamination do not damage the rubber during fitting. Check the assembled system for its actual duty using the appropriate evaluation procedure. During servicing, inspect for swelling, cuts and changes in contact shape. If deterioration is associated with a changed lubricant or cleaning method, address that exposure when selecting a replacement rather than repeating the same material choice automatically.

Identify temperature, contact fluids and repeated movement.
Consider hardness together with wall thickness and support.
Check access, mating dimensions and the fitting sequence.
Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.
Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.
A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.
The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
