Product Overview

A sunroof rubber seal needs to fit the roof assembly while allowing the moving panel to reach its intended closed position. The profile can be customized around the frame, with dimensions, hardness and material selected for the contact it must make. A seal that appears neat with the panel open can still fold or drag as the panel closes.

Evaluate the seal through the full closing movement, paying particular attention to corners and changes in profile. Check whether the rubber remains seated in its channel and whether adjoining trim presses it sideways. Increasing the seal thickness to fill a visible gap can interfere with panel alignment, so the frame position and seal fit should be considered together.

Keep the sunroof's designed drainage paths clear. The seal and the surrounding water-management features serve related functions, and covering an opening with additional rubber can disrupt that arrangement. After replacement, inspect the assembly using the vehicle's appropriate adjustment and water-check procedures.

Routine care should remove dirt from the contact surface with a cleaning method compatible with the selected compound. Avoid using a sharp object to clear a corner. If the rubber repeatedly rolls out of position, inspect the channel and panel movement before fitting another replacement.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. Evaluate the seal through the full closing movement, paying particular attention to corners and changes in profile.
Custom dimensions

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
