Product Overview

A molded rubber seal can include contact features shaped around a particular mating component. The useful design depends on where those features touch and how the rubber is supported during closure. The outside envelope is only part of the specification; local sections and transitions determine whether the seal remains positioned through its intended use.

Choose the silicone formulation for the contacting medium, operating temperature, and repeated opening conditions. Define the retaining or locating features separately from the active sealing region. Keep enough clearance for the designed deformation without allowing the rubber to be pushed into an unsupported gap.

Install in the intended orientation and inspect the full contact path before closing the assembly. Avoid pulling a narrow feature to align the rest of the part. During service, examine local damage alongside the mating surface that produced it. If one feature repeatedly tears or folds, correct that contact or alignment rather than enlarging the whole seal and changing regions that were previously working as intended.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. Keep enough clearance for the designed deformation without allowing the rubber to be pushed into an unsupported gap.
Custom dimensions

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
