Product Overview

Gaskets for sealing provide a rubber interface between adjoining components. The custom shape may use a flat washer section or a round O-ring section, depending on the receiving joint. These forms need different support and compression arrangements even when their overall diameters are similar.

Start with the groove or mating faces. A flat section needs enough supported width, while a round section must fit the space provided for its deformation. The opening, fastener arrangement, and final closed position of the joint all influence the required dimensions.

Select the compound for the medium and temperature, including any cleaning exposure. Fit the gasket onto clean surfaces without twisting or stretching it beyond the intended geometry. Inspect the position as the parts close so no section becomes trapped outside the sealing area. Any required waterproof performance should be assessed on the complete joint under its expected conditions. During maintenance, inspect the adjoining faces for damage and use a replacement with the correct cross section rather than choosing only by diameter.

Material options
Rubber. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Rubber: 30–90 Shore A. A flat section needs enough supported width, while a round section must fit the space provided for its deformation.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
