Product Overview

A flexible rubber seal ring should reach its working position without having to pass over a damaging obstruction. In some assemblies, a shoulder or attached fitting is wider than the final seat. This makes the fitting path a separate design question from the dimensions of the groove where the ring eventually rests.

Consider the assembly order before choosing the profile. It may be practical to position the ring before the larger adjoining part is attached, provided that sequence belongs to the equipment design. Pulling a small ring over a sharp or oversized feature can nick its inner edge, leaving damage that is concealed once it reaches the seat.

Custom molding allows the diameter and working section to match the intended installation. Choose the material around the actual service exposure rather than using extra flexibility as a way around an unsuitable fitting route. After positioning, check that the ring has relaxed evenly around its circumference. A locally twisted or stretched region should be corrected before closure, and a cut ring should be replaced instead of hidden beneath the mating component.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. A flexible rubber seal ring should reach its working position without having to pass over a damaging obstruction.
Custom dimensions
Custom molding allows the diameter and working section to match the intended installation.
Fit & assembly
In some assemblies, a shoulder or attached fitting is wider than the final seat.
Use & inspection
Choose the material around the actual service exposure rather than using extra flexibility as a way around an unsuitable fitting route.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
