A small rubber shock-absorber needs its working face to meet the opposing part in the intended location. Compact dimensions leave less room for contact to shift before it reaches an edge. The receiving geometry and movement path should therefore be considered together when choosing the molded profile.
Select the silicone formulation for the actual operating conditions. The part's small size and soft feel do not establish a particular stopping force, service life or hydraulic damping function. The rubber also needs clearance to deform without being driven into a nearby hole or cut by a narrow bracket.
Check the installed contact slowly through the movement relevant to the assembly. A mark at one corner may indicate misalignment rather than ordinary wear across the intended face. During replacement, preserve both the body dimensions and its seated position. Installing an approximate small buffer farther into its receiving feature can change the contact timing even if the visible portion looks close to the original.
