A Sleeved rubber grommet extends cable protection beyond the immediate panel edge. The retaining section sits in the cutout, while the sleeve follows a length of the cable route. Custom structure, dimensions, material, hardness and color allow both regions to be developed for the intended entry.
The sleeve's exit is an important transition. If a cable bends sharply as soon as it leaves the rubber, repeated movement can become concentrated at that point. Check the available space behind the panel and place any cable support so the route leaves the sleeve naturally. Increasing sleeve length without checking that space can move the problem closer to another component.
Match the mounting groove to the wall separately from the sleeve bore. During insertion, keep the projecting section from twisting while the lip is seated. Then route the cable and check the whole assembly in its final position. Look for the sleeve rubbing against a bracket or pulling the panel lip outward. If either occurs, adjust the route or profile before repeated handling produces a worn edge.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The retaining section sits in the cutout, while the sleeve follows a length of the cable route. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
